Many of us went through confirmation… and barely remember it. Others never finished, or never started. Still, the big questions remain: What is Christian faith really about? How do Scripture, church history, worship, and theology connect with real life—suffering, aging, purpose, meaning, identity? This year Pastor Chris is planning an adult formation class called “Confirmation, Again: What We Missed (and What Matters Now).”
The class will introduce the basics and then go deeper into the questions we actually carry as adults. Here are some of the topics we will cover: What is Christian Faith For? How to actually read the Bible Where is God when it hurts - Faith and Suffering Church History: From Jesus to Luther and Beyond Lutheran Theology 101 Worship and Sacraments How to Pray Vocation, Aging, and Lifelong Faith
How Do We Actually Read the Bible?The topic for our first gathering will be “How Do We Actually Read The Bible?” where we will dive into the bible starting with the basics and build our way up. We will discuss among other things: origins of scripture, genres, organization, reoccurring themes, and look at some specific passages. There will be two classes: Thursday October 8th at 7:00pm at St. James, Limerick Monday, October 19th at 7:00pm at Jerusalem, Schwenksville
