All Day Long

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:5

ME: Jesus, what does a day look like to you? I know Your time frame is certainly different than ours. Do You have morning, afternoon, or evening?

JESUS: Why is this a concern?

ME: Well, because the verse says my hope is in You all day long. I want to know how long that really might be.

JESUS: My time is infinity and difficult for you to grasp. You’d be better off changing your thinking from all day long to ‘forever’.

ME: But Jesus, there are times when I do not feel very hopeful. My heart feels heavy. I feel alone. I feel like I am on the backside of nowhere. I just can’t believe the world has gotten into such a pickle. How did hatred grow so fast?

JESUS: Those are feelings your enemy has sprouted in your head. My precious child, you are never alone. Even in the darkest of days, there is still beauty to be found. In the chaos of the day, you can still hear My voice telling you, “Go this way!”

ME: To us, it feels like this mess has no ending. Doesn’t it feel that way to You? Or maybe You have a plan. That is probably more accurate. So, all of this could be happening in a minute of Your time. Hmmm…

JESUS: Yes, my child, I do have a plan: "For I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." You know this verse of hope very well. What’s really going on?

ME: Please forgive me but my trust level is wavering. I guess I’ve got a little case of hopelessness today.

JESUS: Come to Me and I will give You rest! Give Me your burdens and concerns. It is too much for you. Let Me help restore your hope. I am able to do that for you. Now, I have a question for you?

ME: What?

JESUS: Why does it take so long for you to get to your real issues?

ME: I guess I just love talking to You? It makes me feel better. Is that an ok answer?

JESUS: The BEST!

My Hope is in You
