Christ the King
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17
“His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion endures from generation to generation.” Daniel 4:34
On Christ the King Sunday, and daily we need to remember that Jesus is not only the Savior who came in humility but also the eternal King who reigns with authority, justice, and mercy. His kingship is unlike any earthly rule; He does not reign through force or fear but through sacrificial love.
When life feels chaotic, Colossians reminds us that Christ holds all things together. Nothing escapes His care. His dominion is everlasting, which means His reign is not threatened by the rise and fall of nations, circumstances, or personal struggles.
To confess Christ as King is to acknowledge His rightful place on the throne of our hearts. It means trusting His wisdom when we would rather cling to control, and following His way even when it is costly. But under His rule, we find peace, purpose, and hope that cannot be shaken.
Lord Jesus Christ, our King and Redeemer, we worship You as the One who reigns over all creation. Teach us to trust Your sovereign hand and to submit our lives to Your good and gracious rule. Reign in our hearts, our homes, and our communities. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in us today. Amen.
