One Bell to Ring

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises! Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody! With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord! Psalm 98:4-6 (ESV)

Me: Why is it so hard for me to just praise You? I thank You all the time for letting me see Your creation but isn’t there more to it than that?

JESUS: Yes, you thank Me and yes, there is much more to learn about praising Me. You experience only part of it. There are so many ways to honor Me.

ME: Jesus, I long to know what makes You smile.

JESUS:  Well then, let’s get started. Each of you have a gift that was assigned to you before the world was ever created. When you use it to My Glory, it is pleasing.

ME: But sometimes our entire life goes by without figuring out our purpose.

JESUS: You have said purpose but we are talking about gifts.

ME: Aren’t they the same thing?

JESUS: Hardly! It makes My Heart happy when you recognize your gifts and share them with others to fulfill your purpose. Your gifts are like wings that help you soar to accomplish your purpose. Does that make sense to you?

ME: Yes, I think it does…sort of. But I think I was blessed with several gifts like music, art, and writing. You are pleased when I use only one of my passions?

JESUS: True, but there is more. In each of those, by using them, you will be sharing My love with others. I have given you one primary bell to ring at a time. Ring it loud and clear. Do not hold anything back as you let My love resonate. Sometimes, you might get off beat a little, I still smile as I hear you scrambling to get back on track. Remember you are not perfect so you must laugh as well.

ME: Do You ever laugh at me?

JESUS: I laugh with you, my child. Even when your thoughts are a bit absurd, we can chuckle and giggle together. That is why I gave just one very important bell to ring.

ME: Now I understand and I will do my best.

JESUS: As you always do!

Smile
