A Prayer for Christmas Day

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Father God, we thank You and praise You today for the miracle of Your Son's birth. Thank You for bringing great joy and light to the whole world! Thank You for giving us the assurance that because You came to us in the form of a man, through faith in Jesus Christ we can know with absolute certainty that we'll spend eternity with You. We will also experience abundant, full lives now.

We thank You, Lord, for the many reasons we have been given a merry Christmas. We rejoice in each and every blessing. We have a new life, His love, and new opportunities to share the One we believe in.

We pray for those who are experiencing suffering of any kind. May they know Your comforting presence and provision. When Christ lived among us, He experienced all the pain and hardships we do, so we know we have a Savior who understands what we are experiencing. Through it all, He lived the perfect life, without sin, for us. Through faith in Christ, we know that no hardship, no loss, no pain can ever separate us from His love. We pray for peace in the face of violence and war. He is our Prince of Peace who, one day, will put an end to war and destruction. Now we have His peace living within us.

We know, Lord, that You created the sun and the moon and set the stars in motion. You tell the ocean where to stop and the snow when to start. And we thank You for the mighty gift of Your creation.

Thank You, Father, for family and faith-filled friends who keep encouraging us.

Most of all, Thank You for Jesus, The Christ, Who fully reveals You, the Great I AM. Amen

Merry Christmas!
