Into the Battle

The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent. Exodus 14:14 (EVS)

Friday morning

ME: Jesus, I don’t understand how I can remain silent if the others don’t hear my side or hear my questions.

JESUS: We have planned this meeting time for you. They already know why you are coming. Just as you have put your little ducks in a row, they are ready as well.

ME: So, what am I supposed to say to them. I have my list and the documentation needed. If I keep quiet, what’s the point?

JESUS: Good analogy! You have no need to get emotionally involved or to argue. Simply present the truth and let Me take care of the rest. That falls into the trust category.

ME: But what if they are not truthful? Often, they do not speak the truth and end up making me dizzy with their illogical, irrational answers. To be honest, they give me a headache.

JESUS: Why do you stay working for them? Do you not believe I could give you something better?

ME: The driving is easy, the hours are excellent, the pay is okay. You know I do not like conflict!

JESUS: But this is a resolution meeting-not a conflict announcement. You told them you wanted to meet to work this out. This should not be a battle.

ME: What if we can’t work this out? What if…

JESUS: STOP! I’m asking you to trust Me and you are still playing that scenario game. Just as I touch your heart, I can also soften theirs. The bigger questions are these: Are you willing to move on? Are you able to forgive them?

ME: Jesus, I’m not sure.

JESUS: This must be determined before you walk into the meeting. This is the only way; you must be willing to accept the outcome regardless of what happens.

ME: I’ve done that before and it worked out to my benefit. I will try it again.

JESUS: Good choice!

Friday afternoon

Some of the issues were resolved and I have a slightly more positive outlook. I had my list of things to discuss and I was ready. I would have been fine with either outcome and that has again made all the difference.
