The Glory of God
O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth. …When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:1-4
Is there anyone out there that can honestly say they proclaim this message every day?
Yes, of course, we see His creation. The hazy July sun comes up over the tree line to remind us of another scorcher on the way.
The stark reality of another day as a God-given gift isn’t in full bloom like the brown-eyed Susans, tiger lilies, lupines, or fox glove. There is a moment when the hot, humid air takes away our fresh shower scent before we can even make it to the air-conditioned car.
Can’t believe we have to stop for an old bear waddling across the road. The doe and her fawns jump out and startle us. The whirring of the tractors and bailers can be heard long before the field of green and gold catches our attention.
Yup! Just another summer day to endure. I wish it was cooler!
Let’s do a rewind.
A deep breath and we are ready to face this day knowing that the God of all creation has gifted us with more time.
I’m so grateful for air conditioning. Life must have been difficult back before it was invented.
What a gorgeous sunrise! Look at all the different shades of country-side green and that sky is breathtaking. Thank You, Father, for showing us Your creative touches with all the shades You’ve painted across the sky. You’ve even provided us with a weather prediction with that hazy sun shining down on us.
Thank You for allowing us to see that black bear cross the road. It is so unique as it shuffles along on hand-like paws. And even the fawns still have their spots, but they aren’t moving as quickly now.
It’s only 6:15 AM and the farmers are in the fields. Thank You for the good crops this year.
You get the message, right?
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge Psalm 19:1-2
Creator God, thank You for all Your abundant blessings. We are grateful for each day and help us to be content with what each day brings forth. AMEN.
