Just For You and Me
Let the morning bring me word of you unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift my soul. Psalm 143:8 (NIV)
There are days when I begin my devotion time only to discover that the message is just what I need for that moment. Maybe this is a day when you need Sarah Young’s (Jesus Calling) words as well.

Rest with Me a while. You have journeyed up a steep, rugged path in recent days. The way ahead is shrouded in uncertainty. Look neither behind you nor before you. Instead, fucus your attention on Me, your constant Companion. Trust that I will equip you fully for whatever awaits you on your journey.
I designed time to be a protection for you. You couldn’t bear to see all your life at once. Though I am unlimited by time, it is in the present moment that I meet you. Refresh yourself in My company, breathing deep draughts of My presence. The higher level of trust is to enjoy Me moment by moment. I am with you, watching over you wherever you go. (Genesis. 28:15)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

What comfort we find in these words! They are spoken from a heart that knows nothing but love.
We tend to wear ourselves down with the business of life and then wonder why we feel exhausted. He understands our humanness but desires more from us.
We must learn to rest in Him. How do we do that? By taking time to be quiet with no distractions is a good beginning. Quiet our thoughts. Only focus on His loving presence and seek His face. These give us the kind of peace we long for in our broken world. This peace is full refreshment. Just what we need.
Rest!
Loving Lord, thank You for Your words of daily renewal and for telling us how to find rest in this crazy world today. Let us remember to rest in You first and claim our peace. AMEN.
