It's All Done

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV)

Well, here we are in 2026—not far, but just over the line! Christmas is all done. Gifts are being worn, washed, and put away. Left over cookies have gone out to the birds and deer. The refrigerator looks almost empty now. Decorations are being put away. I fall into that kind of empty feeling when I think about Christmas this year because I just don’t remember much. It’s all kind of blurry. It certainly was not one of the better holiday seasons I’ve ever experienced.

Is it really done? How can something as wonderful and joyous as Christmas be finished in less than one month? This just isn’t right!

Have you ever questioned what puts the hype in our holidays? Name one thing that we only have at Christmas time other than decorations. All year we have family, friends, gifts to give, special meals together, and we send text message, cards,  go on visits, and so much more.

It’s not all done! Many of us stand on the brink of a new year and give a big sigh! What’s going to happen in this new calendar year? If you don’t journal, there will be many days that are not framed. If you do journal, there will be trace lines of His Presence in your life.

He is the one who stands before us each day and motions for us to step forward.

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God (2 Corinthians 3:5, ESV).

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me” (Hebrews 13:6, ESV)?

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13, ESV).

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah (Psalm 62:8, ESV).

Let Him go before you each day and make your path straight. There are some jobs that are just too big for us…and life is one of them!

Our God Will Go Before Us

Loving Lord, thank You for bringing us this far. Help us to look to you for confidence and strength. Help us remember that Your message is not finished. AMEN.
