Saying I Love You Again

I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Jeremiah 31:3 (ESV)

A well-loved couple in our congregation renewed their wedding vows on their 58th wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful celebration of the love they share for one another, their amazing family, their dear friends, and, most of all, God. He is the Creator of love and is Love itself.

Witnessing such enduring commitment reminds us that lasting love does not happen by accident. It is nurtured through faithfulness, forgiveness, patience, sacrifice, and the daily choice to love. Their renewed vows were not simply a reflection on the past, but a joyful declaration of a love that continues to grow.

God's love for us is even greater. His love is not measured in years but in eternity. Long before we knew Him, He loved us. Through every season of life, times of joy and times of sorrow, His everlasting love never changes. He remains faithful even when our own hearts may wander or grow weary.

Just as a husband and wife can renew their vows, each new day gives us the opportunity to renew our love and devotion to the Lord. We do this as we spend time in His Word, come to Him in prayer, worship Him with thankful hearts, and seek to follow Him in our daily lives. Our relationship with Christ is not meant to be a one-time commitment but a living, growing fellowship that deepens day by day.

Today is a wonderful opportunity to remember God's unwavering love and to respond by saying once again, "Lord, I love You. Thank You for never giving up on me. Help me to walk faithfully with You today."

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us with an everlasting love that never fails. Your faithfulness gives us hope, and Your mercy is new every morning. Renew our hearts each day so that our love for You continues to grow. In Jesus' name, Amen.
