In the Beginning, God Created

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1 (NIV)
The Bible begins with a truly astounding ten-word sentence: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." It’s a simple, yet profoundly powerful declaration. Before time began, before anything existed, there was God. And out of nothing, He created everything. The vast galaxies, the intricate design of a single leaf, the rhythm of the tides, and the miracle of a sunrise. All of it was spoken into existence by Him.

Everything we see, every mountain peak, every star-lit sky, every flower that blooms, every bird that sings, was made for us to behold, enjoy, and be reminded of the One who made it all. Creation is not just scenery we often take for granted, it is a living testimony of God’s power, creativity, and love.

As I begin each day, I want God to open my eyes, my mind, and my heart to more fully see, experience, and appreciate all that He has made. Not just the physical beauty around me, but the moments He’s written into my life—the people I encounter, the breath in my lungs, the opportunities to love and be loved. Each is a gift of grace.

Today, may we not rush past the wonder. Lets live more aware of the sacred all around us. Because if God can create the universe in a breath, what might He want to create in and through us today?
Creator God, thank You for the beauty, order, and majesty of Your creation. Thank You for the gift of life and the world You so carefully designed. As we begin each day, open our eyes to see Your glory in the ordinary and extraordinary. Open our minds to understand more of who You are. Open our hearts to be filled with wonder, gratitude, and joy. Help us to walk through each day aware of Your presence, fully trusting in Your power, and fully committed to living for Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
