Could It Be Today?
But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13:32 (ESV)
ME: Jesus, why is it taking so long for You to come back? There are so many things happening that match end-time Scriptures. And to be totally honest, I am tired and frustrated with the condition of our world. Aren’t You?
JESUS: Be aware that I am coming soon. It is not for you to know the exact moment that I will return but the big question is this: Are you ready? If I were to come through the clouds today, what would happen to you? Stop! Think about this before you answer Me. What changes do you need to make?
ME: Well, ummm, ah…. That gives me a lot to ponder. Am I ready? I think I am but how do I know?
JESUS: Do you love Me?
ME: Yes, of course. But is loving You enough? What more should I be doing to get ready for that glorious day?
JESUS: You are too quick to grab hold of what others are saying. Matthew 24:14 makes it clear. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Has this been accomplished? No! So now is the time to share the Good News with everyone.
ME: But Jesus, You know that I am not a preacher.
JESUS: Did I say anything about preaching? As I explained in Luke 10:2, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. All laborers have different skills. There are various ways to reach the souls of others and draw them in to Me other than standing in a pulpit on Sunday mornings.
ME: So, just for starters, I can use music, writing, and just sharing what You have done in my life?
JESUS: Yes, but there is still much more My followers can do. Walk the path I gave to you. Stay focused and remain alert. Prepare your heart. Talk to Me. Pray. Live a godly life that makes you stand out in the world today. …Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
ME: I’ve got a lot to do.
JESUS: Yes, and it is time to get serious about this.
