Great Is Thy Faithfulness

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

God sprinkles us with the dew of His love each morning to refresh us and He gives us a new start. This is a powerful passage emphasizing God's unfailing love and fresh mercies and He does it every day.

How beautiful that our God starts us off with His reassurance each morning IF we only allow ourselves to come into His presence. He will protect us from those that try to stomp on us, to push us down and make us feel unworthy. With precision He pulls the weeds of sin from within us

Yet, many feel undeserving all of it. No, my friends, that is far from the truth. You were created by Him, and He sees all the beauty that is within you. You may look, speak, and even dance differently to the rhythm of life as He moves in you, but He loves all. We are all different but made by His hand and on this earth to praise and glorify Him.

For myself, if things are NOT going my way, I tend to make excuses. I tend to blame others for not stepping out in faith. I forget that His promise of fresh grace is renewed each day, even after difficult situations. I call this the droughts of my life which need watering through Him.

Don’t you love that God promised mercies are "new every morning" which means that yesterday's failures or sufferings do not have to define you or me the next day unless you allow it. Remember each day is a reminder that our God’s compassion is freshly available each day and He will meet your current needs.

You may be wondering how to keep yourself watered, refreshed, and blooming?  Include Him in morning routines. Be honest with Him and tell Him your thoughts and feelings. Journaling is a good thing—it helps you see where you’ve been and how He has answered your prayers. Don’t forget to pray and include scripture!

In these short, cold days of winter, remember that tomorrow is another day. Be thankful for what you have and thank Him for His bountiful mercies.

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Loving Lord, thank You for new mercies every day. Help us to look forward to each new dawning with eagerness and anticipation to see what You have for us. AMEN.
